With her big ideas, a love for animals and a keen interest in people, Dr Jeannet Kessels started her first veterinary enterprise from her home in Camira – offering her services and kindness to all creatures great and small.

As her home business grew, Jeannet knew she would need more space (and more staff!), so she seized the opportunity to open the ‘Clinic’ on Woodcrest Way, Springfield, in 2006.  It wasn’t long before positive word-of-mouth began to spread about her original veterinary practice with the ‘bright red firetruck’ (parked noticeably out the front!) being one of the most kind, caring and professional in the greater Ipswich area.

In 2015, building on the foundation of the warm, personal and professional image she had created through the Clinic, Jeannet opened her brand new ‘Hospital’ on Technology Drive, to cater for animals and their families in the Brookwater area. This facility was designed by Jeannet – purpose built, and with every detail carefully considered.

The Greater Springfield Veterinary Team continues to welcome new international staff, cutting-edge medical equipment, host community events and family-fun days and receive numerous business and practice awards. Over the last nine years, Greater Springfield Veterinary has morphed into one of the key pioneers for best veterinary practice in Australia. It may have begun as a small home-based practice in Camira, but it has grown into the popular, award-winning, two-clinic establishment it is today and we couldn’t be more proud.

Jeannet and her staff are always looking to perfect their skills, ensuring they stay up-to-date with the latest academic developments in veterinary medicine, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics. With this knowledge, they are able to deliver the best care possible to the patients they treat, with excellence and heart, everyday.

It has certainly been a roller-coaster ride, but as they say, ‘the rest is history’….
