Lead Nurse

Tamsyn has been part of the GS Vets family since 2022 and is currently the Lead Nurse at our Augustine Heights Hospital.
As an experienced veterinary nurse, Tamsyn has a deep understanding of animal care and is passionate about providing the best possible experience for both pets and their owners.
Outside of work, Tamsyn has her own furry crew to keep her busy – two cats, ‘Bernard’ and ‘Ori’, and an Australian Cattle Dog named ‘Lee Lou’.
LEAD NURSE (SPRINGFIELD)

Jen began her nursing journey with GS Vets as a trainee, and we were so impressed that we quickly snapped her up into a junior nursing position in 2020.
Since then, Jen has continued to flourish, developing into an accomplished and passionate veterinary nurse. In 2026, she stepped into the role of Lead Nurse at our Springfield Hospital, where she now supports and guides the nursing team while continuing to provide exceptional care to our patients.
Known around the hospital for being all smiles and a literal ball of happiness, Jen brings plenty of positivity and energy to every shift.
Outside of work, Jen loves brunching with her besties, spending time with her niece and hanging with her small, fluffy furbabies – ‘Dusty’ and ‘Minky’.
LEAD NURSE
(Redbank Plains)

Emma joined GSV in 2010 and is our current Lead Nurse at Redbank Plains.
She has a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery and anaesthesia, working closely alongside specialist surgeons at our hospital.
Outside of her professional life, Emma enjoys horse riding, tending to her plants, and spending quality time with her family.
Her home is lively with three Jack Russells ‘Bart’, ‘Griff’ and ‘Wickett’, a python named ‘Stella’, and a nob-tail gecko named ‘Boo’.

Ashleigh joined the GS Vets team in 2022.
Ashleigh has a special interest in hand-raising neonates – especially kittens. Her dedication to caring for these tiny patients and preparing them for their forever homes through our adoption program is second to none.
When she’s not raising kittens, Ashleigh enjoys hitting the gym and spending time with her family. At home, she has plenty of four-legged company too, with her two cats, ‘Alfie’ and ‘Loki’, and her British Bulldog, ‘Pumba’.

Sandra has been with GSV since 2009.
She served as head nurse for 7 years and was instrumental in the foundational nursing standards set for our team.
Now working part-time, Sandara is passionate about emergency medicine, chronic diseases, and educating the community on best practices for small animal care and disease prevention.
Outside of work, Sandra enjoys gardening, sustainability, and acrylic art. She loves camping with her family and spending time with her dog, ‘Chilli’, as well as caring for her horses and chickens.

Danica has been with GSV since 2015.
Danica is passionate about developing others in both clinical and non-clinical skills, including mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, leadership, anaesthesia and analgesia, surgical nursing, and low-stress animal handling.
Outside of work, Danica enjoys spending time at home with her family and pets – ‘Zeus’ the Jack Russell Terrier, a cat named ‘Eevee’, and multiple fish.

Shyanne is currently in her third year of Veterinary Science, working towards her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She joined the GS Vet team in 2025 and brings with her over three years of hands-on experience as a veterinary nurse.
As a veterinary nurse, Shyanne has worked in various clinical environments including emergency care, anaesthetics, and general practice. Her interests lie in small animal anaesthesia, emergency medicine, and the care of equine, wildlife, and exotic animals. She is passionate about continuing to develop her skills and knowledge.
Shyanne has also had the unique opportunity to travel to South Africa, where she worked hands-on with a wide variety of wildlife species. During this time, she completed a specialised course in standard reptile medicine – further fuelling her interest in exotics and conservation medicine.
Outside of her busy schedule of work and study, Shyanne enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé and their beloved animal family which includes three cats, a Great Dane named ‘Hunter’, and three horses.

Becca holds a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and has extensive experience working across both general practice and specialist hospitals.
Bec is dedicated to delivering top-quality care and supporting families throughout their pet’s health journey. She values mentorship and collaboration and is a wonderful teacher to junior staff members. She aims to pursue a surgical diploma to deepen her expertise.
Outside of work, Becca enjoys reading, archery, and playing netball, as well as spending quality time with her border collie, ‘Gracie’.

Jessie joined the GSV family in 2022 and brings 10 years of experience as a veterinary nurse. She holds a dog training qualification from the Delta Institute and has a strong interest in animal behaviour.
As a Fear Free Certified veterinary professional, she is committed to creating a calm, supportive environment for pets during their visits. She finds great joy in helping people improve their relationships with their pets by strengthening trust, understanding, and communication.

Robyn started her journey with GS Vets as a trainee, commencing placement with the team in 2019.
Robyn graduated in 2021 with a cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and holds areas of interest in anaesthesia and feline behaviour.
Outside of work Robyn enjoys spending time with her son and partner, silversmithing, camping and hiking.
Robyn has a menagerie of pets that she devotes her spare time to; ‘Oak’ the English Staffy, ‘Pixie’ and ‘Sonic’ (who are both rescue cats), her chickens, fish, shrimp and her pet stick insects.

Rhiannon began her journey at GSV as a trainee in 2019 and has since specialised in intensive care nursing for critical patients. In addition, she contributes her skills to Groodles Australia as a nurse liaison for the charity, through GS Vets.
Outside of work Rhiannon is a fitness enthusiast who spends much of her free time at the gym. She also enjoys exploring local cafes and is a fan of EDM music.
At home, Rhiannon cherishes the companionship of her cat, ‘Jetta’ and her border collie ‘Junior’.

Jessica completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2014 and gained extensive experience working in specialist veterinary hospitals before joining the GS Vets team in 2024.
Jessica has a particular passion for surgical nursing and loves the challenge that comes with complex surgical cases – the more complicated, the more interesting!
Her specialist background has given her a wealth of knowledge and experience, which she brings to the care of our surgical and hospital patients every day.
Outside of work, Jessica loves spending quality time with her family and her much-loved Dachshund, ‘Shelly B’.

Katelyn graduated from UQ as a veterinary Technician in 2021, and joined GS Vets in 2024.
Katelyn continually builds her skills to provide the best possible care for her patients – her professional interests include emergency, critical care and CPR (she holds additional certifications in these areas), as well as surgery.
Outside of work, Katelyn enjoys Pilates, travelling, drinking the perfect soy latte and spending time with her cat, ‘Timon’.

Dominnic joined Greater Springfield Veterinary in 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology from UQ and began her career in emergency nursing.
Dom has a special interest in creating peaceful, supportive spaces for families during euthanasia and is dedicated to making every aspect of veterinary care meaningful and compassionate.
Outside of work, Dom enjoys bouldering, coffee dates, paddle boarding, cycling through scenic landscapes, and spending time with loves ones.

Georgy joined GS Vets in 2025 after transitioning from a specialist role at a referral hospital.
Georgy is particularly interested in pursuing her passion for animal nutrition and surgical rehabilitation, with a specific focus on orthopaedic cases.
Outside of work, Georgy enjoys baking, playing tabletop games, and reading. She is a devoted mum to her young son, as well as a fur mum to mum to ‘Hiccup’, a Staffy x Boxer, and ‘Tucker’, a Great Dane X.

Louise joined our nursing team in 2021 and immediately fit in like she had been with us forever.
Always keen to expand her knowledge, Louise loves learning new tips and tricks and can often be found picking the brains of our vets and senior nurses. She has a particular interest in internal medicine cases and enjoys consulting, where she can take the time to build lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
Outside of work, Louise loves going camping, spending time with her family, hitting the gym and exploring Brisbane in search of the perfect iced coffee.

It was a life-changing trip to Sri Lanka in 2019 that set Leteia’s animal journey in motion. During her travels, she formed a bond with a beautiful street dog named Peanut, which inspired her to pursue her passion and take the first official step into veterinary nursing.
Leteia began her career in the industry as a kennel hand in 2020 while studying. She became a qualified veterinary nurse in 2023 and joined GS Vets in 2024.
While most of Leteia’s clinical experience has been in companion animal practice, her passion extends to wildlife and conservation, medicine and critical care nursing.
Outside of work, Leteia is always planning her next adventure. She’s an avid traveller, hiker, and snow lover, and enjoys nothing more than curling up with a good book after a busy day.
At home, she’s mum to a much-loved French Bulldog – ‘Cherry’ – who keeps her on her toes!

Abby is currently a final year UQ Vet student who joined the GSV team in 2025.
Abby’s interest in veterinary medicine encompasses all aspects of the profession, with a particular focus on internal medicine – eager to learn from experienced GSV veterinarians.
Outside of her studies and work, Abby enjoys spending time on the farm with family and friends, and her cocker spaniel ‘Harley’.
She will graduate from veterinary school in 2027.

Tess spent 2.5 years nursing in the UK before returning to Australia and joining our team in 2025.
Tess has been a qualified nurse since 2015 and has since developed a particular interest in reproductive procedures and brachycephalic surgeries. She is committed to providing excellent patient care before, during, and after every procedure.
Outside of the clinic, Tess loves travelling, swimming, exploring op shops, and will happily quote The Simpsons at every opportunity.
At home, she’s kept company by her much-loved pug, ‘Peppa’.

Tayla (known as ‘TJ’) joined the GSV team in September 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Animal Ecology with a minor in Conservation & Restoration, as well as a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
TJ has a strong interest in inpatient care, emergency and triage nursing, and surgery nursing. She is passionate about supporting patients through every stage of their care.
Outside of work, TJ is an avid reader who also enjoys writing and running Dungeons & Dragons campaigns.
TJ values the importance of balance and believes it is essential to make time for yourself each day, even in small ways – whether that’s enjoying a coffee outside or going for a walk with her golden retriever ‘Benji’.

Kelly began her journey with GS Vets as a trainee while completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. After graduating in 2023, we knew we couldn’t let her go and quickly snapped her up for a nursing role.
Kelly has a natural talent for thinking outside the box and is always bringing forward new ideas and suggestions to help improve workflow and patient care. She has a particular interest in medical cases and is constantly asking questions and expanding her knowledge to better understand what her patients need throughout their treatment and recovery.
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys life on her large property surrounded by her family & animals. Her crew includes five cats – ‘Bella’, ‘Devon’, ‘Harriet’, ‘Lucy’ and ‘Wilson’ – two dogs, ‘Nala’ and ‘Nami’, as well as her horses.

Sam completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2022 and has continued to build on her nursing skills through further study and training. She is RECOVER Basic Life Support certified, has completed Stress Free Pets training and Elevate Emergency Nursing, and is currently studying a Diploma of Veterinary Nursing.
Sam has a particular passion for caring for hospitalised patients and loves taking the time to get to know each animal’s individual personality. She especially enjoys helping nervous and anxious pets feel safe and comfortable throughout their visit and supporting them through their treatment and recovery.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys gardening, cooking, and photography – particularly capturing birds and nature. She also loves spending time with her friends, family and her two senior dogs, ‘Summer’, a 14-year-old Shih Tzu, and ‘Sydney’, a 10-year-old Bichon Frise.
Before beginning her veterinary nursing career, Sam spent some time living on the Gold Coast, where she worked as an Uber driver for around a year – so she has plenty of stories from life before vet nursing!

Keira completed her Certificate III in Captive Animals in 2010 before going on to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2016. She also holds a Certificate in Venomous Snake Handling.
Keira has a special interest in native wildlife and loves having the opportunity to care for some of Australia’s unique wildlife alongside her veterinary nursing patients.
Outside of work, Keira plays representative soccer and loves getting outdoors and exploring with her children.
At home, Keira is kept busy by ‘Calamity’, her 1-year-old Roman Rottweiler, and littermates ‘Chaos’ and ‘Riot’, her two 7-year-old domestic cats.

Hollee completed her Certificate II in Animal Studies in 2019 before graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology in 2020.
As part of her Veterinary Technology degree, Hollee completed work placement with GS Vets in 2020. After graduating, she gained valuable experience working elsewhere in the veterinary industry before returning to GS Vets in 2026 – this time as part of the team!
Hollee enjoys many aspects of veterinary nursing and has particular interests in brachycephalic patients, reproduction and caesarean sections, dentistry, and inventory management.
Outside of work, Hollee enjoys gardening and growing succulents, heading away on camping trips, and trying her hand at fermentation.
At home, Hollee shares her life with ‘Maddie’, her 6-year-old Miniature Dachshund.

Meredith completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2019 and gained valuable experience working in specialist veterinary hospitals before joining the GS Vets team in 2026.
Meredith particularly enjoys the fast-paced and hands-on side of veterinary nursing, with special interests in surgery and emergency care. She loves being part of the team supporting patients when they need it most.
Outside of work, Meredith enjoys PC gaming, hiking, rock climbing, reading and drawing. She also has a creative side and enjoys macramé, including making her own necklaces and charms.
At home, Meredith is kept company by ‘Tickles’, her much-loved Cockatiel who is around 20 years old and still loves to sing!
