Nursing manager

BAppSc VT

Khalan has been with GSV since 2023.

He has an extensive history in specialist hospitals and has served as a practice manager.

Outside of full time work, he is studying a Bachelor of Architecture!

He loves spending time with his partner, his two dogs ‘Apollo’ and ‘Winston’, and his cat ‘Aubrey’. 

LEAD NURSE (SPRINGFIELD)

Cert IV VN

Meegan joined GSV in 2016 after working in wildlife and shelter medicine.

Meegan is our lead nurse for our Springfield site – additionally, she contributes regularly to the clinic’s marketing efforts.

Outside of work, Meegan indulges in reading, attending live music events, exploring new destinations, and discovering the best brunch spots in Brisbane.

At home, she cherishes the company of her dog, ‘Marshall’, as well as her cat, ‘CC’. 

LEAD NURSE

(Redbank Plains)

Cert IV VN

Emma joined GSV in 2010 and is our current Lead Nurse at Redbank Plains.

She has a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery and anaesthesia, working closely alongside specialist surgeons at our hospital.

Outside of her professional life, Emma enjoys horse riding, tending to her plants, and spending quality time with her family.

Her home is lively with three Jack Russells, a python, and a nob-tail gecko.

Tamsyn has been with the GSV family since 2022.

She is currently our Lead Nurse at our Augustine Heights Hospital. 

As a seasoned nurse, Tamsyn has a deep understanding of animal care and a passion for providing the best possible experience for both pets and their owners.

Sandra has been with GSV since 2009. 

She served as head nurse for 7 years and was instrumental in the foundational nursing standards set for our team.

Now working part-time, Sandara is passionate about emergency medicine, chronic diseases, and educating the community on best practices for small animal care and disease prevention.

Outside of work, Sandra enjoys gardening, sustainability, and acrylic art. She loves camping with her family and spending time with her dog, Chilli, as well as caring for her horses and chickens.

Danica has been with GSV since 2015. 

Danica is passionate about developing others in both clinical and non-clinical skills, including mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, leadership, anaesthesia and analgesia, surgical nursing, and low-stress animal handling.

Outside of work, Danica enjoys spending time at home with her family and pets – Zeus the JRT, a cat named Eevee, and multiple fish.

Nurse Ashleigh joined the GSV team in 2022.

Ashleigh’s special interests include hand-raising neonates – especially kittens – her dedication to raising babies and preparing them for adoption through our adoption program is unparallelled.

When she’s not raising kittens, you’ll find her at the gym or spending time with her family.

Shyanne is currently in her second year of Veterinary Science, working towards her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She joined the GS Vet team in 2025 and brings with her over three years of hands-on experience as a veterinary nurse.

As a veterinary nurse, Shyanne has worked in various clinical environments including emergency care, anaesthetics, and general practice. Her interests lie in small animal anaesthesia, emergency medicine, and the care of equine, wildlife, and exotic animals. She is passionate about continuing to develop her skills and knowledge across both common and complex cases.

Shyanne has also had the unique opportunity to travel to South Africa, where she worked hands-on with a wide variety of wildlife species. During this time, she completed a specialised course in standard reptile medicine – further fuelling her interest in exotics and conservation medicine.

Outside of her busy schedule of work and study, Shyanne enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé and their beloved animal family which includes three cats, a Great Dane X, and three horses. She also makes time to return home to Tasmania as often as she can, recharging with the people and places she loves most.

Tigerlilly joined Greater Springfield Veterinary in 2021. She holds a keen interest in anaesthesia and emergency care.

Outside of work, Tigerlilly finds joy in staying active through soccer and hiking, as well as exploring new destinations.

Tigerlilly shares her home with her beloved dog ‘Aurora’ and two cherished cats named ‘Thumper’ and ‘Indiana.’

Jessie joined the GSV family in 2022 and brings 10 years of experience as a veterinary nurse. She holds a dog training qualification from the Delta Institute and has a strong interest in animal behaviour.

As a Fear Free Certified veterinary professional, she is committed to creating a calm, supportive environment for pets during their visits. She finds great joy in helping people improve their relationships with their pets by strengthening trust, understanding, and communication.

At home, Jessie shares her life with two dogs, Bollo and Shadow, two bengal cats, Vedder and Babou, and two eastern long-neck turtles, Mr T and T-Bone.
 
Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and embarking on adventures with her dogs and husband.

Bec holds a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and has extensive experience working across both general practice and specialist hospitals.

Bec is dedicated to delivering top-quality care and supporting families throughout their pet’s health journey. She values mentorship and collaboration and is a wonderful teacher to junior staff members. She aims to pursue a surgical diploma to deepen her expertise.

Outside of work, Bec enjoys reading, archery, and playing netball, as well as spending quality time with her border collie, Gracie.

Robyn started her journey with GS Vets as a trainee, commencing placement with the team in 2019.

Robyn graduated in 2021 with a cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and holds areas of interest in anaesthesia and feline behaviour.

Outside of work Robyn enjoys spending time with her son and partner, silversmithing, camping and hiking. 

Robyn has a menagerie of pets that she devotes her spare time to; Oak the English Staffy, Pixie and Sonic (who are both rescue cats), her chickens, fish, shrimp and her pet stick insects.

Rhiannon began her journey at GSV as a trainee in 2019 and has since specialised in intensive care nursing for critical patients. In addition, she contributes her skills to Groodles Australia as a nurse liaison for the charity, through GS Vets.

Outside of work Rhiannon is a fitness enthusiast who spends much of her free time at the gym. She also enjoys exploring local cafes and is a fan of EDM music.

At home, Rhiannon cherishes the companionship of her cat, ‘Jetta’.

STUDENT PLACEMENT FACILITATOR

BAppSc VT, RVN

Dominnic joined Greater Springfield Veterinary in 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology from UQ and began her career in emergency nursing.

While Dom returns to the 24-hour emergency hospital for the occasional ‘thrilling shift’, the move to general practice marks an exciting new chapter in her career.

Dom has a special interest in creating peaceful, supportive spaces for families during euthanasia and is dedicated to making every aspect of veterinary care meaningful and compassionate.

Outside of work, Dom enjoys bouldering, coffee dates, paddle boarding, cycling through scenic landscapes, and spending time with loves ones.

Katelyn graduated from UQ as a veterinary Technician in 2021, and joined GSV in 2024, bringing a wealth of expertise in emergency and critical care nursing.

Katelyn loves the buzz of urgent care and holds a certificate in emergency nursing and CPR recovery.

Georgina (Georgy) is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who joined GSV in 2025 after transitioning from a specialist role at a referral hospital. Following the birth of her son, she sought a new role, offering a better work-life balance – and we snapped her up!

Georgy is particularly interested in pursuing her passion for animal nutrition and surgical rehabilitation, with a specific focus on orthopaedic cases.

Outside of work, Georgy enjoys baking, playing tabletop games, and reading. She is also a devoted dog mum to ‘Hiccup’, a Staffy x Boxer, and ‘Tucker’, a Great Dane x, both three years old.

Nurse Jen began her nursing journey with us as a trainee, but she was so good that we snapped her up into a junior nursing position in 2020.

Since then, Jen has flourished – she is an accomplished nurse who lifts our spirits and brings positivity to every shift. 

When she’s not working, Jen loves brunching with her besties and hanging out with her niece.

Nurse Louise joined our nursing team in 2021 and immediately fit in like she has been with us forever.

As her favourite thing is learning new tips and tricks, we often find her with the vets and senior nurses asking lots of questions to expand her knowledge.

When she’s not working, you’ll find her at the gym or exploring Brisbane for the best iced coffee.

It was a life-changing trip to Sri Lanka in 2019 that set Leteia’s animal journey in motion. During her travels, she formed a bond with a beautiful street dog named Peanut, which inspired her to pursue her passion and take the first official step into veterinary nursing.

Leteia began her career in the industry as a kennel hand in 2020 while studying. She became a qualified veterinary nurse in 2023 and joined GS Vets in 2024. She is now, proudly AVNAT registered.

While most of Leteia’s clinical experience has been in companion animal practice, her passion extends to wildlife and conservation, medicine and critical care nursing. 

Outside of work, Leteia is always planning her next adventure. She’s an avid traveller, hiker, and snow lover, and enjoys nothing more than curling up with a good book after a busy day. 

At home, she’s mum to a much-loved French Bulldog – Cherry – who keeps her on her toes!

Abby is currently a 3rd year UQ Vet student who joined the GSV team in 2025. 

Abby’s interest in veterinary medicine encompasses all aspects of the profession, with a particular focus on internal medicine – eager to learn from experienced GSV veterinarians. 

Outside of her studies and work, Abby enjoys spending time on the farm with family and friends.

Tayla (known as ‘TJ’) joined the GSV team in September 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Animal Ecology with a minor in Conservation & Restoration, as well as a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

TJ has a strong interest in inpatient care, emergency and triage nursing, and surgery nursing. She is passionate about supporting patients through every stage of their care.

Outside of work, TJ is an avid reader who also enjoys writing and running Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. 

TJ values the importance of balance and believes it is essential to make time for yourself each day, even in small ways – whether that’s enjoying a coffee outside or going for a walk.
