Dr Rae Newson

About Me

I graduated with Honours from the University of Queensland in 2014 and have been with the GSV family since October, 2017.

My special areas of interest include behaviour, ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery. I am also passionate about leadership and encouraging our vet team to grow professionally and personally.

When not at work, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, playing computer games, exploring new dog walking spots and volleyball.

I have an anxiety plagued Beagle called 'Cindy' and a (thankfully!) low-maintenance cat called 'Sasha'.

Dr Karen Burnett

SENIOR VETERINARIAN
BVSc (Hons)

About Me

I graduated with Honours from the University of Queensland in 2007. I began my career with GSV in 2008.

I'm passionate about the client/vet bond and and strongly connect with our 'Excellence With Heart' motto. I aim to deliver excellent all-round GP services.

My area of interest is dentistry. Oral pain in pets often goes un-noticed and I check every patient carefully - by recognising issues that are sometimes overlooked, I know I can help to make a big difference in the everyday lives of your pets.

Outside of work, I enjoy horse riding, tending to my veggie patch and spending time with my family and Cavoodle, 'Asha'.

Dr Cate Khursandi

In 2009, I gained my post graduate qualifications in Small Animal Surgery - RCVS certificate (UK) and the ANZCVS Memberships in Surgery.

I enjoy all aspects of soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery - my special interests include feline patellar luxation and canine cruciate disease.

When not chasing after my 3 small children and cat 'Chutney', I enjoy walking, swimming, basketball and reading.
