Qualified Veterinary Nurse (Permanent Part-Time)

Role Responsibility:

  • Day-to-day nursing duties.
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
  • Monitor patients undergoing medical/surgical treatment and identifying when a change in care is required.
  • Maintain surgical and treatment areas in line with infection control policies.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalised animals.
  • Provide education and support to pet owners.
  • Contribute to a clean and organised environment within the clinic.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Continually uphold the core values of Greater Springfield Veterinary and encourage other staff to do the same.

 

Role Requirements:

  • Certificate IV or equivalent.
  • Flexibility to work 30 to 38 hours per week with a variety of shifts between 7am and 9pm, and 2 weekends out of 4.
  • Sound surgical, medical, and practical nursing skills.
  • Compassion for animals and a genuine desire to provide excellent client service.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to have financial discussions with clients.
  • A focus on continued growth and further education in both a clinical and non-clinical capacity.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and a high level of emotional maturity.
  • A team mentality and positive attitude.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software, experience with Ezyvet, Smartflow, and IDEXX Machines is beneficial.
