TERMS & CONDITIONS – PROFESSIONAL GROOMING SERVICES

By booking your dog in for a professional grooming appointment at Greater Springfield Veterinary you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the following terms and conditions:

Drop Off Times:

  • Please arrive at your scheduled drop-off time.
  • When you arrive, our groomer will conduct a brief consultation with you to confirm the service and provide an accurate estimate based on your dog’s coat condition and weight.

Estimated Collection Times:

  • Early morning drop-offs: Typically ready by lunchtime

  • Mid to late morning drop-offs: Typically ready by early afternoon

  • After-lunch drop-offs: Typically ready by late afternoon

Please note: All timeframes are approximate and may vary slightly depending on your dog’s coat, temperament, and the day’s schedule.

Booking + Deposit: As of September 1st, 2025

  • A $50 deposit is required for grooming appointments, payable at the time of booking.
  • One deposit per pet family is sufficient (not per individual pet).
  • The deposit is held on file until the day of the groom and is then deducted from the total amount payable, OR, if you like to book multiple appointments in advance, the deposit can be carried over to secure future bookings.

Cancellations:

  • An appointment reminder SMS will be sent to you 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Please respond with Y or N to confirm or cancel by 6pm on the day you receive it. 
  • Missed appointments, or,  cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in forfeiture of your deposit. 

Grooming Services:

  • All grooming services include a bath, blow dry, nail clip, and basic outer ear canal clean.
  • We cannot perform any styling or clipping unless your dog has been bathed by us on the day, due to the damage that dirty coats cause to our grooming tools.
  • Your selected booking type helps us understand your preferred service, but it may not always be achievable. A full coat assessment will be conducted at admission to determine what can be safely and realistically performed.
  • We will make every effort to preserve coat length (if this is your preference), however, in cases of matted or compacted coats, spot clipping may be required and the final look may be patchy or uneven.
  • Additional charges apply for matting, billed in 15-minute increments at $20 per interval.
  • Upon collection, please inspect your dog’s groom and let us know if you would like any changes to be made. We welcome your feedback and are happy to make any changes within 24 hours of your appointment. Changes outside of this timeframe will incur normal grooming fees.

General:

  • All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations. If not carried out at Greater Springfield Veterinary, a vaccination certificate must be presented at the time of admission.
  • Please ensure your dog is on leash when entering and exiting the premises.
  • Please inform our grooming team of any known pre-existing conditions such as medical issues, behaviour issues and allergies.
  • All dogs must have a suitable temperament for grooming. If you would like to talk to one of our veterinarians about whether some anti-anxiety medication for the purpose of the grooming appointment might be helpful, please make an appointment here.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue grooming services for dogs exhibiting extreme anxiety or aggression to ensure the safety of the groomer(s) and prevent potential injury or psychological stress to your dog. 
  • If fleas are detected on your dog, treatment will be required to protect other pets in our care. Our team will explain the available options, which will be provided at your expense.

Payment:

  • Payment is to be made at the time of pick-up. We accept, cash, eftpos, credit card (excluding AMEX).
